Special features

The Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay come from Kaltern-Mareit. This plant was planted in 2010 and the young vines had their first yield in 2013. The Sauvignon Blanc comes from Siebeneich-Datumhof, where Manincor has been using that part of the vineyard, which is on somewhat clayey soil, for the "La Manina" instead of the "Réserve della Contessa" since 2013.

La Manina consists of 50 % of Pinot Blanc 30% of Chardonnay and 20 % of Sauvignon Blanc. Both the younger vineyards in Mareit are used here as well as from the purchase of contract vintners in the surrounding area. All suppliers also work biodynamically and are certified accordingly. After the harvest, the vines are completely destemmed. This is followed by a maceration of six hours on the press. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels as well as in steel tanks. Spontaneous fermentation and natural yeasts from the vineyards are standard at Manincor. Ageing takes place for six months until bottling in spring.

Color

Clear straw yellow, light greenish reflections

Nose

2020 La Manina conveys the South Tyrolean lifestyle Warm climate with many hours of sunshine, Alpine panorama and a Mediterranean touch in the culinary. The nose clearly shows bright pome fruits in various stages of ripeness and plenty of grapefruit. Litchi, white strawberries and currants provide an intense contrast. In a small excursion into the herb garden, La Manina picks up a little sage, lemon balm and mint. White flowers like jasmine and camomile provide accents. It exudes lightness and a good dose of fruit alongside the herbal nuances.

Palate

Already on the palate, La Manina clearly shows that the nose is not deceiving. Delicate, slender and juicy at the same time. Infused with a fine acidity, it lives on freshness and finesse. The grapes are noticeably not aged in wood, so that the steely, clear fruit comes to the fore here in the best possible way. A restrained yeasty appearance provides a little melt on the palate. This is soft and mild. Positively uncomplicated and a perfect wine for any occasion. In the finish, the bright fruits and floral notes from the nose reappear.
