Out of stock

Fresh aromas of blueberry, black cherry and plum combine with notes of sun-dried tomato and rose hip pulp, as well as pickled red pepper, Russian bread and black tea. The bouquet of this cuvée of Grenache, Carignan and Alicante Bouschet alone manages to reflect exactly what Ampeleia is all about - the Mediterranean attitude to life and the sunny disposition of Tuscany, but at the same time also lightness instead of melancholy; especially in the red wine.

Color

In a slightly luminous purple with a violet rim and opaque core, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.

Palate

On the palate, too, the 2016 Kepos from Ampeleia manages the balancing act between red-fruited warmth and powerful substance paired with juicy freshness and cool elegance with flying colors. In the highest qualitative measure and claim, this is a downright charming wine, whereby the attribute "charming" in the wine world in the rarest cases, in this however absolutely is to be understood positively.

Its berry fruit multiplies on the palate, but at the same time remains crisp and fresh. Its tannins are fine-grained, giving it firm grip and longevity, but are already superbly integrated into its entirety at this youthful stage of the wine. Its acidity is unexpectedly high for the Tuscan hills, which is a card the Kepos clearly plays as a trump card. Its drinkability is high and that's all there is to it.

To be well.
