Color
The wine shows a slightly translucent garnet red with a transparent, light red rim, clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
If a wild, young berry bush, with all its urge to grow, open and stretch towards the light, could be made to smell, it would almost certainly be just like this.
Feathery, fragrant notes of black and red currant, as well as green strawberry meet, suggesting supposed sweetness, aromas of acacia honey and brown rock candy. The scent of flowers like hibiscus and thyme rises into the air, united with the spice and warmth of red rooiboos and marzipan potatoes as well as the loamy scent of healing earth.
Palate
The Bret Brothers' 2018 La Bottière embodies brilliantly the fragrance of the Julienas Cru des Beaujolais. This Gamay skilfully combines playfulness and seriousness. This red juice bar has the infectious, carefree balance of a Heinz Erhardt . Lively acidity, discreetly perceptible tannins that drive the drinking flow and a bone-dry finish make the mouth water. A mature wine that has retained its inner child.
