Color
Medium light golden glittery straw clay that you can tell has a little more time in it.
Nose
The pure Vermentinu with extended ageing time of 24 months has left the aromas of ripe white fruits behind. Instead, it smells like a whole basket of citrus fruits such as the great Corsican cedar lemons and clementines, but also lemon blossom, lemon verbena and orange zest. After a moment, aniseed and fennel, myrtle and immortelle, beeswax and honey introduce themselves.
Mouth
On the palate, the IP surprises with great intensity, with citrus aromas and excellent acidity dominating at first, too. One tastes lemon herbs, tangerines and oranges, but also peaches and nectarines. It fills the mouth with plenty of volume and silky texture before an increasingly striking expression of terroir, of earth and stones, of peppery, salty minerality takes over. A great, unmistakably Mediterranean white wine with plenty of relief and energy, a very long dry earthy finish and the structure for long ageing.
