Info about the wine

From the vineyards where St. Severin retreated to pray over 1,500 years ago. The soil consists of loam, loess, paragneiss.

Info about the expansion

It matures for about 1 ½ years in large, old wooden barrels and is drawn to the bottle on a fruit day.

Color

Dense golden yellow with delicate lightening towards the rim.

Nose

The 2010 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd convinces with dense fruit reminiscent of ripe mirabelles, apricots and oranges, underpinned by an animating honey spiciness, malty components, a hint of nougat, brittle and milk coffee.

Essential herbal notes of wild herbs, nettle and eucalyptus round off the extremely exciting aroma spectrum excellently.

Palate

On the tongue, we encounter a wine that succeeds in bringing juiciness with fruit sweetness and stimulating acidity into perfect harmony. Its intense minerality is not only razor-sharp, but also pleasantly demanding and gripping. A true monument of a wine that exudes youth and freshness despite its power and maturity - and that with a moderate alcohol of only 12.5 vol%.A wonderful companion to intense and original cuisine.

Be sure to decant!
