Tasting note from Aug 21, 2019 copyright Sebastian Bordthäuser

Color:

Bright yellow with green reflections.

Nose:

The 2018 Il Corzanello from Corzano e Paterno is a fragrantly jovial journeyman with spicy hints. Foral notes of lime blossom mingle with green and yellow apples, ripe pears and tart vergetabile notes of bay and sage. An upright sip for the Mediterranean moments in life.

Mouth:

The cuvée of Petit Manseng, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Trebbiano and Malvasia does not necessarily consist of Tuscan grape varieties, but nevertheless appears peculiarly Tuscan in the nose as well as on the palate. With its herbaceous spiciness, it transports one directly to the olive grove below the winery and impressively proves that Italian white wine can also work from originally red regions. The fruit is spicy coated by delicate phenolic and accompanied by the finely interwoven acidity into the herb-fruity finish.

Food recommendations by Sebastian Bordthäuser:

  • Panzanella, tomato bread salad with basil and olives (vegetarian)
    (Fruiting vegetables (nightshade), salads, olives)
  • Bream with braised artichokes and thyme
    (fish, flowering vegetables)
  • Guinea fowl with wild herbs from the oven
    (Wildfowl, Guinea fowl)
