Information about wine
The Idig site is the core of the Christmann winery. First mentioned in the 14th century, it is still an undivided, four-hectare monopollage. The slope slopes gently to the south-southeast and is characterized by a massive limestone subsoil as well as a terra fusca limestone scree layer with red sandstone scree and basalt. The Idig can certainly be counted among the few Grand Cru sites that Germany has to offer.

intense straw yellow
Nose
For a long time the Idig to the real Great growthsthat is, to those who really deserve the name. This does not change with the 2019 vintage - on the contrary. Due to this wonderfully ripe and yet lively acidity, the vintage is one of the most beautiful examples from this Grand Cru site. In the bouquet, however, you don't notice that much yet; because there is only a hint of herbs and rocks.
Palate
On the palate, it takes a while for this blood young Königsbacher Idig also a little, until it opens. One finds an interplay of fine tannin texture with mellow as well as fresh notes of apple and apple skin, herbs and rocks, citrus and some mirabelle. What stands out, however, is the profundity of this wine. Here, the powerful, the punchy still lies deep inside, but it will explode later with all its stoniness and minerality, with its salt and brilliant acidity, which you can sense now if you pay attention.
