Huet

Domaine Huet that is highest quality, great craftsmanship and wines that are made to last for decades.

A single grape variety - chenin blanc - is the basis for very different wine styles here in Vouvray on the Loire. Origin-related still wines, expressive sparkling wines, and sweet wines with great longevity, which is otherwise only known from German predicates. This sounds suspiciously like the attributes of our German Rieslings. In many ways, these two grape varieties have many parallels. Both reflect their terroir. Both live from acidity and fruit. Both are said to have great longevity, and both varieties tolerate residual sweetness or noble rot extremely well. The result is one of the most exciting sweet wines in the world. Only the chenin blanc the aromatic development is quite different.

Vouvray is located between Angers and Orleans on the picturesque river Loirewhich is characterised by castles and palaces. The valley is declared a Unesco World Heritage Site and not only attracts wine tourists. The Domaine was long influenced by Gaston Huët. A pioneer of quality winegrowing, he pursued his high goals to the end. His son-in-law, Noël Pinguet, continued this tradition and achieved legendary status in the wine industry.
