The grapes - hence the name - of this velvety, fresh red wine come from the sunny lowlands to the east of Lake Neusiedl in northern Burgenland. This is particularly characterized by its permeable soils as well as its special microclimate.
Like everything else in the Nittnaus family, of course, it is read by hand.
Color
The wine shows a strong ruby red with violet edges and opaque core clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
The style of each Heideboden lives from filigree, red and especially clear fruit. This one is an honorable representative of its rank. Sour and black cherry meet berry notes of blackberry and blueberry. In addition to the red-fruited aromatic splendor, cocoa bean, subtle woodsy and peaty notes as well as the scent of a freshly baked marble cake bring a pleasant depth that gives the wine's charm the necessary support.
Palate
As predicted by its aroma, the 2018 Heideboden from the Nittnaus family also keeps its promise on the palate, paying homage to the fruit. Heart cherry exudes the beauty of its essence from the skin, through the pulp and freshly broken wood, to the core. Juicy, light on its feet, with medium-weight alcohol and an acidity arc that encourages drinking, this grape juice simply sums up the pleasurable quality of life on Lake Neusiedl.
