Color
Ruby red with delicate violet reflections.
Nose
The 2017 Guix Vermell from Terroir Sense Fronteres shows brilliant red berry fruit on the nose. Grown at 800 metres above sea level in the immediate vicinity of Les Manyes in neighbouring Priorat, it flaunts small strawberries, raspberry jelly and cherries in the goblet. Underpinned by mineral vibration, ethereally mild spices adorn the top note.
Mouth
On the palate, the nectar from 100% Grenache shows a fruity bedding. Grown on vines that are more than 50 years old on a plateau with red clay, its rich fruitiness is perfectly balanced by the amphora fermentation. Whole cluster fermentation, natural sedimentation and filling without filtration result in an almost Buddhist balanced wine. The ethereal fruit is silkily edged by caring tannins and carried by shimmering minerality like a flying carpet. Tidy with a cool nature, it flows into the epic finish. Only 1208 bottles!
