Information about the wine

The Spitzer Graben site is one of the most extreme in the Wachau. The base alone is about 100 meters higher than most of the other sites, and it also goes steeply uphill from there, dry wall for dry wall. The climate is untypically hardly influenced by the Danube, and so even in summer it gets cool in the afternoon. The primary rock soils are poor and partly without any humus layer. The Grüner Veltliner is fermented spontaneously and aged in large 850-liter wooden barrels.

Color

Straw yellow with green reflections

Nose

Tight and pure the Grüner Veltliner Spitzer Graben with tart notes reminding of pome fruit peels. In addition, cool stone, a slightly vegetal, sort-typical impact, some bright tobacco, lanolin and the freshness of just cut yellow apples and pears, decorated with a little lemon peel.

Palate

The tautness continues on the palate, where the Grüner Veltliner is dry, punchy, tart and spicy, reminiscent of green hops, spicy tobacco leaves and cool salty stone. The Valtellina sharpened trench always remains lively and full of electrifying energy and tension. The saltiness gives it drinking fluency.
