Nose
One becomes curious as soon as one pours the 2021 Manila Grüner Veltliner. What magic, what freshness and at the same time what a profound fragrance emerges from the glass. Although cloudy in colour, it resembles a crystal-clear mountain spring with aromas of lemon, lemon zest, orange flesh and white peach. Subtle notes of ginger, coriander, garden cucumber and mustard seeds round off its multi-layered aroma beautifully.
Palate
Let's go to Manila, the best thing to do is to plunge into the adventure with this wine, which comes across as fundamentally honest and unadorned, with it one likes to go on an adventure trip. Lots of bright, yellow fruit, a fine yeast carpet, a perfectly buffered acidity and an extremely animating spiciness. This wine belongs to the category "finish the bottle and open a second bottle" - a wine that is at rest and at the same time has fire. Already a pleasure solo, great with food!
Be sure not to serve it too chilled in a larger glass!
