The Grauburgunder vom Löss is the entry ticket to the world of Keller wines from the Kaiserstuhl. Characterised by the loess, the Pinot Gris is distinguished by its herbaceous, tart style and the precisely elaborated varietal character. The wine was aged 85% in steel and 15% in large wooden barrels with moderate alcohol. The wine did not go through BSA to preserve the freshness.
Color
Light yellow with green reflections.
Nose
The nose of the 2020 Grauburgunder vom Löss from Fritz Keller is lively. Its fruit basket is filled to the brim with ripe pome fruits, next to which lies a bouquet of dried meadow flowers. Yellow and red apples mingle with green pears and green almonds, giving it its light-footed and carefree nature.
Mouth
On the nose, the charmingly juicy fruit is balanced by fine spice and animating grip. Red-fruited, it is reminiscent of ruby and redcurrants, the herbs of the nose are also reflected on the palate. The acidity is well integrated and provides the right beat and adequate timing when refilling.
