Color
Dark purple with violet reflections and black core.
Nose
The 2017 Teroldego from Vigneti delle Dolomiti by Foradori shows a stature like John Wayne on the nose. Dark fruits like blackberries, elderberries and black cherries are complemented by dried plums, cloves and black pepper and some crushed juniper. The flavors balance floatingly and unveil their complex conglomerate of aromas. The typical floral notes show up tentatively after some aeration, which is what the Granato desperately craves in its youthful stage. Also the big, expensive glasses may be used.
Mouth
On the palate, the Granato proves its status as the undisputed king of Teroldego. In velvety regalia, it masters the fine line between full-fruited opulence and elegant finesse in an exemplary manner. With subtle noblesse it unites the extract-rich fruit with its aristocratic tannins and is almost somnambulistically carried by the majestically integrated acid arc. Even if one may drink it already now with great pleasure, some years of bottle maturity are recommended for the optimized fun yield.
