Wine information
This Godello comes from quite young vineyards, a little less than 20 years old. They are located in Campo, Molinaseca and San Lorenzo del Bierzo on the slopes of the Montes Aquilianos, a low mountain range. The vines there were trained in trellises and grow on clayey and chalky soils. After the hand harvest, the grapes were destemmed, pressed and fermented in stainless steel with temperature control, then matured for three months in stainless steel on the fine lees.
Color
intense straw yellow
Nose
The Sangarida Godello 2020 is a young and fresh Galician white wine that smells of star fruit and young green pears, ripe lemons and young pineapples, white peaches and yellow plums. There are also some white currants, a few white flowers and a little grass. The fragrance is already mouth-wateringly fresh.
Palate
On the palate the Godello Tension and creaminess, exudes freshness and seems wonderfully silky at the same time. In fact, this Godello fits seamlessly into the other young wines from Attis, which are produced in the Rías Baixas. A bright white-fleshed fruit combines with citrus notes including zesty zests. There is also ginger and a little stone. The acidity is brilliant and yet also silky to a certain extent. Nevertheless, it pushes the wine forward with verve and in the finale, it still engages in a mouth-watering saltiness.
