Color/Look:
Golden yellow with copper reflections/impressive mousseux.
Nose:
The Garennes Extra Brut LDS 18 from Georges Laval is one of those champagnes that inspire with their incredibly complex aromas. Vineyard peach, yeast, dry pastry and white flowers, chalk, oyster shells and sea breeze included.
Palate:
On the palate, it presents itself with a pronounced creaminess and density, which is accompanied by its extremely lively perlage. A lot of grip and saltiness determine its wonderful long finish. A top champagne and excellent food companion!
To support its creaminess and richness, serve it a little warmer.
Food recommendations by Christina Hilker:
- Crostini with goose rillettes
(poultry)
- Creamy cauliflower soup with dried porcini mushrooms
(Vegetable & Vegetarian)
- Turbot in brick batter on champagne foam with caviar and celery
(fish)
