Color
Bright lemon yellow with green and golden reflections
Nose
The nose reveals abundant exotic and yellow fruits. Pineapple, mirabelle, vineyard peach and cantaloupe melon. Red apples and green mango complement this successfully. Coriander and parsley stems provide plenty of herbal spice. Verbena tea comes into its own. Gooseberry as well as currants complement the fruit with plenty of freshness. A touch of soured milk brings a lactic character to the table. White flowers in the form of jasmine and magnolia make a restrained appearance. Freshly chopped almonds set the final chord.
Palate
The 2020 Ried Steinberg Roter Veltliner is dense and mouth-filling. It prances lively across the palate. The acidity is harmonious, but also sets the pace in the mouthfeel. A delicately melting character has a balancing and moderating effect. It leaves a mineral impression without making this overtly obvious. The yellow fruit makes its appearance again. Warming and pleasantly spicy. White pepper appears next to red apples and mace blossom in the finish. Its delicately creamy character is an exciting contrast to the gripping acidity. This makes for versatile use as well as a lot of pleasure enjoyed unisolo.
