About the wine
The vineyards are located in the Contrada Bastonca between Vittoria, Acate and Comiso. The Frappato is fermented and aged in large acacia wood.
Color
purple red with violet reflexes
Nose
As a variety, the Frappato seems to be something like the link between the dark southern and rather soft Nero d'Avola and the juicy cool Nerellos from Etna. In the fragrance, this is expressed by a fresh sour cherry fruit that brings its pips. In addition, there are wild strawberries, undergrowth, earth and a smoky component as well as a bunch of violets.
Mouth
Also on the palate, the freshness and clarity is found in the sour cherry fruit. Likewise, the slightly earthy and understated components remain. The tannin is a bit dry at this point and demands food accompaniment, but that shouldn't be a problem; because with a little fat, it continues juicy and fresh. The acid structure and fine minerality provide lively punch, and that's how it should be.
