Wine information

With the Petersbühl Uwe Lange and Marco Pfliehinger offer a Lemberger from Württemberg. The Lemberger comes from an old steep slope between Weinsberg and Erlenbach. Exposed to the south, the vines stand at the top of the cool edge of the forest on the typical Keuper there, which is very rich in limestone and interspersed with red clay. The soil clearly resembles the soil from the Steinsatz Pinot Noir. Partially destemmed or whole cluster fermented depending on the vintage. Briefly foot-crushed in small wooden vats and fermented on the skins in moderate pigeage for around three weeks. Afterwards, the wine is pressed on an old basket press. The country wine is drawn off via the broquereau by drop pressure, aged exclusively in used wooden barrels, predominantly Barriques and Pièces. No yeasts, no enzymes, no fining, no filtration and a maximum of 30 mg of added sulphur depending on the vintage.

Color

Purple red with garnet red inclusions.

Nose

The nose of the 2019 Petersbuehl is red-fruity and clear as a bell with ethereal hints, notes of incense and rooibos tea. The more air it gets, the more the dark berry aromas of blackberry, sloe and elderberry come into play. Everything seems very fine and precise, wrapped in a lot of chalky minerality and cool presence. The curiosity to taste it increases every time you smell it.

Palate

Pure freshness makes the start, its fruit is invigorating, the acidity as well, sour cherry and raspberry notes as well as some blood orange flash up. Silky and elegant, it flows over the tongue. A lot of saltiness in the mid-palate, in the long finish the still youthfully impetuous tannin grabs hold and pleasantly challenges the taster. A new and exciting way to vinify and drink Lemberger/Blaufränkisch. A wine that inspires the senses.

Decant and enjoy slightly chilled from large red wine glasses.
