Wine information
A pure Pinot Noir from different sites by Uwe Lange and Marco Pfliehinger. Here, younger vines and those plots were used that are not included in the site wines. Complete manual labour in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. Depending on the vintage, partially destemmed or fermented as whole grapes. Briefly foot-crushed in small wooden vats and fermented in moderate pigeage on the skins for around three weeks. Afterwards, the wine is pressed on an old basket press. The country wine is drawn off via the broquereau by drop pressure, aged exclusively in used wooden barrels, predominantly Barriques and Pièces. No yeasts, no enzymes, no fining, no filtration and a maximum of 30 mg of added sulphur depending on the vintage.
Color
Purple red with garnet red inclusions.
Nose
A fragrant and elegant representative is this 2019 Landwein wild raspberries, elderberries, a hint of blueberries, delicate tart notes of sloe and rowan. It is joined by a cool and aristocratic finesse that seems chalky and precise. Beetroot, undergrowth, wood smoke and the scent of porcini mushrooms underline its honest Burgundian character.
Palate
What a lively and multi-faceted drop on the tongue, it appears cool even at its warmer temperature and beguiles with playful acidity and fine-grained tannin. The well-measured use of wood frames it, a wine with grip and play and with moderate alcohol. Its long finish shows berry aromas, a fine fruit sweetness and an invigorating structure that encourages drinking pleasure. An honest wine and a true beauty, unadorned and beguiling. A real discovery that prefers purist dishes.
Decant and enjoy slightly chilled from Burgundy glasses.
