Color

Slightly cloudy golden yellow with delicate green reflections.

Nose

The 2021 Fontanasanta Manzoni Bianco needs air, lots of air, then aromas of firm pear, kumquats, lime zest and distinct herbal notes of fennel and sage permeate the immense carpet of its stony minerality. Distinct ethereal and floral notes of pine, sorrel, jasmine and thyme can also be detected after prolonged contact with oxygen. The notes of distinct minerality and dried pastry are appealing, in which the wine appears very nicely framed. Wild and untamed, this white drop immediately arouses curiosity for the first sip.

Palate

At the palate, it presents itself gripping and pleasantly demanding with its fine astringency and salty structure. Here, power is paired with elegance in an ingenious way. The beguiling, juicy fruit will become even more apparent with a few years of aging. Its finish is long and inspiring, a real meditation wine and wonderful companion to a cuisine that has the same intensity as itself.

If you want to enjoy it in its youthful stage, please be sure to decant and serve in a sufficiently large glass. A few days of opening will also make it win. The drinking temperature is important, which should be around 14°C for the white wines from the amphorae.
