Wine information
100 % Vermentinu from different parcels from an area of about 18 hectares. The vineyard is characterised by granite and lies at an altitude of around 100 metres. The Vermentino has reached an age of 40 years and is harvested at around 20 hl/ha. It is harvested by hand in the early morning, destemmed and pressed directly. There is a slow fermentation at 18 °C after a cool pre-fermentation and after the natural settling of the lees. This is followed by ageing in stainless steel for 5 months. No fining, light filtration.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
The Faustine Vieilles Vignes Blanc is from the first moment a white wine of the south with an expressive nose of peach and orange blossoms, broom and some jasmine, anise and yellow pears, spiced with some dry herbs and crushed stone. The white wine appears ripe but fresh and creamy.
Palate
On the palate, Faustine Vieilles Vignes Blanc is an elegant and silky wine. The fan opens from bright yellow pear and apple notes, quince and apricots to fresh lemons and oranges to light tobacco, anise and ginger. The wine has power and depth, but above all it delights with its wonderful silkiness into which a ripe and lively acidity and the spicy notes reminiscent of the south penetrate more and more with time, while the Vermentino finishes with salty notes.
