Color
In subtle translucent purple with garnet rim, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
The aroma of the 2015 Barbaresco Fausoni transports the mind to the aromatic richness of a classic confectionery. Dried fruits, such as black cherries, plums and sultanas, as well as Amarena cherries and dates. Dark chocolate coating, cocoa shell and roasted nuts, as well as nougat in various intensities. In addition, everything that feels comfortable in a gingerbread spice, plus a spirited shot of Grand Marnier for warmth and freshness at the same time.
Palate
The Fausoni of Sottimano reflects the essence of the vine in puristic form deeply rooted and grounded and at the same time with constant aspiration towards the sky in constant elevation. Edgy and with the unshaven charm of a Sean Connery from 1990, this Nebbiolo draws its power from fine-grained, ripe tannins and delicate yet, quietly, unwavering acidity. The fruity notes of the wine are breathed freshness on the palate and so the Fausoni can be enjoyed today, but opens the way to a great future.
