Wine information

The wine comes from the single vineyard Planetes in Porrera. There, about ten years ago, Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz planted a Selection massale from 20 ancient Carignan blanc vines they had found in the vineyard. They were the only ones of their kind in the entire region. From the 20 canes they planted first 100, then 3,000 canes on one hectare in the lower part of the site. The whole clusters were crushed and the juice left together on the grape skins and stems for 24 hours before gently running into neutral 300-litre barrels. There the wine fermented spontaneously for 40 to 180 days. It then matured for nine months until it was filled and lightly sulphured.

Color

Light yellow with silvery reflections.

Nose

The delicate, elegant and restrained aromas of the 2020 Planetes de Nin bear witness to fine pear fruit, quince, verbena, hay and a hint of aniseed. Its iodine and salty character is clearly recognisable, transporting one directly to the sea. Definitely a wine that tastes of wanderlust and longing for travel!

Palate

On the tongue, it shows sweet bright fruit of ripe pear, honeydew melon and peach, you get the feeling that the sweet juice is running down the corners of your mouth. A distinct spiciness reminiscent of fennel herb and aniseed combines with salty and stony minerality. All in all, an extremely exciting interplay of power and finesse, invigorating and voluminous at the same time. The drinking flow is immense, a wine that goes perfectly with food and itself never fills you up!
