Nose
We encounter a razor-sharp Riesling nose in the 2020 Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling Auslese from Weiser-Künstler. Apple, lemon peel, orange jam, lemon balm and fragrant elderflower pour from the glass with a wonderful intensity. Its elegant yet intense sweetness is already unmistakable on the nose, all framed in a brilliant outline of the slate soil on which this delicious drop has grown.
Palate
It becomes really impressive when you put it on your tongue. The finest sweetness is combined with pronounced minerality and a pleasantly demanding, trenchant acidity. Pure elegance, the purity and finesse of great sweet wines from the Mosel are unmistakable. At the same time, it drinks so lightly, so carefree with all this complexity, it is pure joy in the glass, a sweet poem!
