Information
The El Primer Beso comes from the most recent plantings from the Pago de Valdemonjas vineyard. The Tempranillo grapes for the First kiss, according to the translation, were harvested in the early morning hours, destemmed, spontaneously fermented and aged in cement for over four months.

Nose
When Tempranillo is bottled young and slightly volatile, it sometimes resembles young Syrah in its tariness. That is exactly the case here. Blue berries, tar, herbs and purple flowers are at play here.
Palate
On the palate, the young wine provides a lot of juiciness and sensuality. You find wines like this far too rarely in Ribera del Duero, where much is ranked directly at Reserva level. Here you have an unadulterated dark berry fruit and a little strawberry compote with some residual yeast, further a fresh infusion of blood oranges, plus herbs and stone. The El Primer Beso is absolutely silky in the tannin, has a fresh acidity and relies - it should be repeated again - on the dark berry of the Tempranillo.
