Wine information
El Mas de L'A is a highly interesting wine project in Priorat. The winery is located in La Morera at the foot of the Montsant mountains - in the higher and cooler part of the wine region. The soils in this zone are not only composed of slate , but sometimes also contain high levels of clay, lime and quartz. This single-varietal Garnacha Blanca comes from vineyards 500 metres above sea level with quartz and clay soils. The spontaneous fermentation took place in stainless steel and concrete tanks, followed by 10 months of ageing in 500-litre barrels.
Color
Light yellow
Nose
The white wine has a sensual nose with notes of quince fruit, fresh salty sea breeze and dried herbs. Furthermore, delicate hints of earthiness and citrus fruit emerge. In general, the bouquet has brightness, depth and intensity.
Palate
Quars comes across on the palate with zesty citrus aromas, juicy fruit and mineral grip. A fabulous freshness pervades the mouth, the wine is also straightforward and without frills. The silky texture is joined by a spicy touch. The relatively long finish has a stimulating bitter note, which is typical for Garnacha Blanca. Simply great, what white wines have been coming out of Priorat lately.
