Color
Velvety, dense cherry red, violet reflections
Nose
The nose first presents lilac and violets. These are closely followed by blueberry, cassis and blackberry. Fig and sour cherry also increasingly spread in the glass. Underbrush, forest floor as well as tree bark and pine cones provide abundant earthy and ethereal hints. Fruit tea as well as abundant rosehip complement warm, inviting fruit - far from kitsch. Rosemary and thyme are used very successfully. A touch of flint and cigar box give it that certain something. The Gigondas conveys a feeling of warmth and summer.
Palate
The cuvée of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault is characterised by a gripping acid structure. The fruit builds up intensely on the palate, but is immediately cut by the acid sword. Very good. The acidity pushes it forward with pressure. This gives it esprit, drinking flow and lightness. One almost wants to forget its warm elements and the alcoholic sweetness, which it does have. But in this young stage, it lives on energy and an unusual lightness. The berry notes clearly characterise the finish. A little sourdough bread crust and white pepper add the final spice.
