The Riesling Turckheim vineyards are located on the poorest alluvial soils in the commune. The pebbly soils with fine sand warm up quickly, have good drainage and ensure early ripening of the grapes.
Color
Brilliant golden yellow, bright and clear.
Nose
The 2020 Turckheim Riesling from Zind Humbrecht is tidy and clear on the nose. With distinctive spicy notes, it is reminiscent of nutshells, mace and fresh bread crust. One looks in vain for expansive fruit here, but with increasing aeration, some citrus abrasion appears, underpinned by a discreet core tone. A Riesling from another era.
Mouth
On the palate, the Turckheim Riesling is also spicy with tart phenolic contours. Aromatically, the nose is mirrored with a clear tendency towards mace along with a leafy feel thanks to ripe tannins. Rich on the palate with an oily texture, it is persistent with a long finish and fine spicy notes in the aftertaste. The antipode to the GlouGlou wine.
