Info
Domaine Ciringa is run by the Tement family on the Slovenian side of the vineyard. Visually in bottle and label, these two wineries are clearly separated from each other, although both are located at Zieregg, the local mountain. The vineyards of Domaine Ciringa were planted there in 2006. Tements cultivate 20 of the 30 hectares there and fill about 100,000 bottles under this label. Armin Tement attests the vineyard on the Slovenian side to have an identical potential to the neighboring Zieregg, provided the vines are of an appropriate age. According to this, Fosilni merges with Zieregg. As soon as the vineyards there show an age of at least 20 years, parcel bottlings like on the Austrian side are also planned. Coral limestone is found in the subsoil. In the Fosilni, the overlay is a brown earth. Compared to the Austrian side, the wines here are more earthy and darker. This reserve is bottled without filtration after 30 months of yeast maturation.
Color
Bright straw yellow, green reflections.
Nose
This Sauvignon blanc of the Tements also presents itself very mature and adult. No striking fruit of this grape variety, but an example of its origin. The aromas range from earthy to spicy to red berry. Something slightly smoky and wet lime start things off. Reminds me of school days and wet chalk. The spice comes from dried herbs like marjoram and a little green tea. The fruit opens up to me rather two-sided. First currant, then ripe apricots and mirabelles come in.
Palate
The Fosilni Breg Reserve gives gas from second 1 on the palate. Very original and pure. This earthy and chalky component comes wonderfully to the fore. This has something of licking at wet stones. Which, of course, no one does in real life. I find this racy and juicy. Yet literally drying out on the palate so that you have to top it up immediately. This has 0g of sugar at 7% acidity. You can feel that too. The finish brings out the mirabelles and apricots, rounded off by pleasant bitters.
I find this insanely good and in relation to the price is offered here really a lot of wine. Buy recommendation!!!
