Info

Michael Andres provides enlightening information on the modern-purist label of the wine. According to this, this dry Riesling comes from the Herrgottsacker vineyard in Deidesheim. Within this vineyard, he obtains the grapes from two parcels. One of them is situated on warm red sandstone, the second one on a cool limestone site.

Color

Sparkling straw yellow, green reflections

Nose

Its concept continues on the nose. The first impression conveys a cool note, which one could associate with lime. In the background, however, a detached fruitiness also resonates. Green pear, unripe peach, though also lime zest and a little nettle. This is not to give the impression that the wine seems unripe, but in terms of color one would place it more in the green. The play of colours and its cool impression suit it extraordinarily well.

Palate

On the palate, it seamlessly continues the first impression. One seems to literally bite into a green pear. A very contemporary, slimmed-down Riesling. Clear and precise. For 2018, it is very harmonious and almost austere at a lean 12.5 % by volume.

The lime layer dominates the mouthfeel in the current phase, but the wine does not seem to be at the end of its evolution yet.
