Color
Dense cherry red, dark core
Nose
The grape variety Garnatxa fina blows to the fulminant start in the glass. Black pepper and juniper give plenty of spice. Smoky hints underpin this spicy character. Plum compote, plum as well as blackberry and black cherry wrap a dark fruity coat over it. A little tar, black olive and dark chocolate underpin the intense, dark character. With time and patience, the Catalan develops plenty of ethereal nuances. Thus, pine forests, a little resin, rosemary and thyme can be detected in the glass.
Palate
The 2017 Cuvila grows on "Pedra de Guix", a chalky base in the Montsant. On the palate, it presents itself with a good grip and fine-grained tannins. It seems cool, although it also has a good sweetness of extract. The lime can be found above all in its tautness and straightness. Straight as a candle it rushes - without detours - to the palate. The taste buds are stimulated with a pleasant acidity, delicate bitterness and abundant fruit concentration. Similar to the nose, the spicy, Mediterranean aromas also appear long and clearly in the reverberation.
