On the palate, the rosé is fresh and juicy with subtle bitter notes of peel and with fruit that has ripened to the point but still brings very fresh lively and pithy notes. The Carignan comes from a vineyard with in a mixture of yellow and blue limestone marl and sandstone, pebbles and fossils.

Wine information

White-naped Mountain Gem is the name for a rose variety that is preferably picked early in the morning, when it is still fresh and the dew is still on the leaves. This rosé should present itself similarly fresh. It is a blend of 70 % Grenache Noir and 30 % Carignan Noir. The Grenache Noir comes from a vineyard with vines around 30 years old. The vineyard is characterized by limestone gravel and large river pebbles with a high quartz content. The Carignan comes from a vineyard with in a mixture of yellow and blue limestone marl and sandstone, pebbles and fossils. After hand harvesting, the grapes were pressed and fermented spontaneously. Aging took place in tank for six months and the wine was bottled unfined with 68 mg of sulfur.

Nose

The Cuisse de Nymphe 2020 has tart green, yellow and red, acidic and grassy aromas that make this a fresh and chewy rosé. Red currants, barberries and rhubarb can be found here as well as notes of lemons, of grapefruit peel, grasses and a little wet lime.

Palate

On the palate, the rosé presents itself fresh and juicy with subtle bitter notes of peel and with a fruit that has ripened to the point but still brings very fresh lively and pithy notes. With its light tannin, the White-naped Mountain Gem a pleasant texture, and with its fresh acidity it is also a very pleasant food companion.
