Out of stock

The scent of stewed onions, jacket potatoes and later baked apples from the embers still lingers in the clearing air and is also a source of exuberance. From the section "When wines project images into the mind...". - At dawn, the rest of the campfire is still smouldering, where thick steaks were grilled the night before on spruce and pine wood, their meat juices and marinades of soy sauce and various kinds of pepper, as well as blood orange rind and barbecue sauce dripping into the fire.

Color

Dark purple with an opaque core, the wine appears clear and bright in the glass.

Nose

From the column "When wines project images into the mind..."

At dawn, the rest of the campfire still glows on which thick steaks were grilled the night before on spruce and pine wood, their meat juice and the marinades of soy sauce and various types of pepper, as well as blood orange rub and barbecue sauce dripping into the fire. The scent of braised onions, baked potatoes and, later, baked apples from the embers still lingered in the clearing air and were a source of exuberance.

Palate

On the palate, the 2015 Crozes Hermitage Les Croix from Domaine les Bruyères proves with ease that it is the perfect companion to the above scenario. Dense and dark, yet not sinister, but pleasantly unconcerned, David Reynaud's wine combines charm with earthiness. Precision and body-defining tannins paired with vitalizing acidity and proper expression allow this projection to fully take shape and affirm the desire to repeat this as soon as possible.

Food recommendations from Peter Müller

  • Grilled vegetable skewers with Mojo Rosso and roasted chickpeas
  • Calf's head and oxtail with red lentils, zucchini and morel sauce
  • Confit lamb shoulder "Garam Masala" with raisins, okra and rice
