Color

In dark, velvety purple the wine settles in the glass. Clear shiny and with a violet-black core.

Nose

Deep and, despite its youth, very generous, the 2013 "Georges" from David Reynaud of Domaine les Bruyères shows itself on the nose. Dark fruit reminds of cranberries and cranberries combined with dried and boiled black cherries. In addition, there is the spice of a delicately smoked juniper ham and the aroma of cocoa beans suggesting sweetness, as well as a hint of amaretto.

Changing in many layers, it makes you want to take the first sip.

Palate

Rich and pronounced in its dark berry fruit, yet just as consistently dry, this Crozes Hermitage appears on the palate. An invigorating acidity gives the quite tannic body of this wine freedom of movement and brings it into balance. Time and air bring its still untamed power into a balanced rest; ergo, open and/or decant in time before enjoyment.

Food recommendations from Peter Müller

  • Braised veal shoulder with grilled Brussels sprouts and potato gratin
  • Chestnut spaetzle with roasted onion melting
  • Merguez sausages with Mojo Rosso and sweet potato fries
