Côtes du Rhône Nature “sans Soufre Ajouté” 2020

Vincent Rochette's Domaine Roche-Audran is located in the Vaucluse in the middle of the Côtes-du-Rhône Villages appellation with the place name Vaison-la-Romaine. Between olive trees, lavender bushes and oak and pine forests, the vineyards of the 50-hectare domaine extend over three different terroirs: Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Vaison-la-Romaine and Visan. Around 35 hectares are used for viticulture, 5 hectares are used for olive oil production, the rest is forest. The former mixed farm is managed by the fifth generation of the Rochette family, but the domaine was only founded in 1998. With a treasure trove of vines up to 100 years old, it was a matter of course for Vincent Rochette from the very beginning to preserve this grown, unspoilt cultural landscape for future generations. The wines are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics and are certified by Ecocert and Demeter.

Dark ruby red with purple reflections and black core.

The 2020 Côtes du Rhône Nature Sans Soufre Ajouté from Domaine Roche-Audran is fruity and rich in extract on the nose. Raspberries, blackberries and mulberries set the fruity stage on which the other aromas dance. Plum jam, dark chocolate and mild spices can be found, as well as a touch of undergrowth and notes of pickled black walnuts. The fruit is always youthfully fresh and animating and is mystically surrounded by the dark aromas of the Sans Soufre.

On the palate, it is full of verve and tension, the youthful fruit dressed in a dark purple jumpsuit of pure velvet with white loafers. The low-pile tannins are tightly woven and emphasise its spicy nature. Super juicy with a fresh acidic nerve and distinctive aromatics that are unmistakably rooted in the southern Rhône. At the same time, sparkling, joyful and with hedonistic drinking flow.
