Depth comes from the scents of hay flowers, tobacco and weed. The expression of this cuvée of Viognier and Roussanne is clear, distinct and extremely pronounced.

Color

In rich golden yellow the wine shows itself clear and shiny in the glass.

Nose

There is no need to falter for long. The expression of this cuvée of Viognier and Roussanne is clear, distinct and extremely pronounced. Ripe honeydew melon and rosehip meet the ethereal notes of orange oil, as well as hints of toasted almond and green tea. The scents of hay, tobacco and weed add depth.

Palate

With a firm handshake and sure of itself, the 2016 Brise Cailloux Blanc from Matthieu Barret presents itself. With a good amount of fruit and body, yet consistently dry, the wine has a lot of tension and power on the palate. It effortlessly retains its elegance with appealing and probing acidity, as well as a long resonating finish.

Food recommendations from Peter Müller

  • Roasted kale with parsnip puree and rosehip
  • Lobster Bisque
  • Braised chicken leg with miso, soy sauce, broccoli and lime rice
