Wine information
A Chardonnay from the La Grande Chaude vineyard, which is now officially certified organic. 2021 certification was completed. 100 % Chardonnay were harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously in oak barrels after destemming. The wine was matured in oak barrels for several years.
Color
Light golden yellow with green-golden reflections
Nose
Has the Chardonnay »La Grande Chaude« lived up to its name in 2021 with its warm notes of ripe yellow and partly exotic fruits, it appears fine and elegant in 2021 with a great clarity in the bright, especially citrus fruit. It also smells of citrus peel, some juniper, rosemary and green apple.
Palate
On the palate, the Chardonnay is even more fun. It has a pushing nature, pushes forward, seems mineral and citrusy, but also has warm tones and substance. The wine is not austere, but bright-toned, punchy, then again slightly creamy, then crunchy with some salt and a hint of caramel. The 2021 »La Grande Chaude« should probably be much more fun for everyone than the 2020.
