The Priorat stands for the paradox of a dark soul, which at the same time carries an almost motherly, gentle warmth. This powerhouse of a wine carries all the originality of this unique part of Catalonia.

Color

Deep purple in colour with a light garnet rim and a black core, the wine shows clearly and brilliantly in the glass.

Nose

Dark, almost mysterious, this marriage of 90% Cariñena and 10% Garnacha comes along. Dark aromas of plum jam, cranberries and cranberries as well as a breath of rum pot, meet game or gingerbread spices like clove, allspice, nutmeg and juniper berry. As dark as its appearance, so is its soul. This is harmoniously joined by just the right amount of animalism. Just a little bit of stable, just a little bit of leather and just a little bit of beech wood smoke give the wine a deep soul and let anticipate the first sip.

Palate

Firmly gripping, yet full of caring warmth, the wine leads its way across the palate and nestles without being submissive. Spicy, yet not overloaded or melancholic, the power of the 2008 Corelium from Finca la Cometa is evident. On the palate, too, the powerful yet fine wine shines through the primitive nature of Priorat. Juicy and supported by fresh acidity, it packs all the spice into a mouthful of wine, leaving room for vitality. A framework of ripe yet pithy tannin holds everything together and provides the necessary pressure.
