Color
The wine shows itself in bright, shining gold clearly and brilliantly in the glass.
Nose
Blessed with a densely woven variety, the scent of this pure varietal Vermentinus from Corsica shows itself. Already the first nose gloatingly grins deeply and suggests that one can smell sweetness. Seductive scent of acacia blossoms and the honey of the same, paired with ethereal aromas of chamomile blossom and licorice. Along with fruity notes of yellow pear, gooseberry and apricot, and a freshly baked Träubleskuchen, there is a hint of melted butter. Notes of dry hay, some jasmine and toasted sesame give the wine's aroma fascinating depth.
Palate
With a creamy melt and finely pronounced structure and aromatics, the 2018 Clos Venturi Blanc from Jean-Marc and Emmanuel Venturi appears on the palate like a noble safflower oil that adds the finishing touch to a wild herb salad. On a calm constant wave of fine-bodied acidity, increasingly herbaceous ethereal notes join the fine-bodied yellow fruit. In the otherwise sparse finish, aromas of lavender and thyme flash up in interplay, as do dandelion flowers and saffron.
A proud wine of character on stony ground, whose strength lies in its tranquillity.
