Nose
Full of intensity and spice, the 2015 Laurel pours out of the glass. It also shows that the years in the bottle were rather beneficial to its condition. The fruit seems less striking and concentrated. It seems calmer and more unagitated. Fully ripe figs, plums and rosehip come to the fore. Blackberry and sweet cherries take a step back into the second row. Juniper and pepper are the spicy attributes in it. A little rosemary and black olives set off Mediterranean scent marks. Roasted coffee, walnut and stomach bread give it a special note along the way. The hint of incipient maturity is very positively perceived.
Palate
From the first sip, it shows its best sides. The edges have been polished by maturity. It radiates absolute calm and seems to have "arrived". Juicy in its appearance, elegant in its essence. The aromas of the nose, especially the spice, come to the fore. It lives from a fine but present tannin. Laurel 2015 appears fleshy and generous. In great balance, a proper acid pressure sets in. The acidity drives almost diagonally through the wine. It breaks through all budding nano-moments of fullness or opulence. Full of minerality and cool finesse in the finish.
