Wine information
The Great Growth comes from the Pünderich site Marienburg with grey slate. The vines are around 40 years old. After harvesting and sorting, the grapes receive a longer maceration period, are pressed very slowly with low pressure and fermented spontaneously. Clarification takes place through sedimentation. Apart from small amounts of sulphur, nothing else is added. The wine is matured in traditional Moselle barrels with a capacity of 1,000 litres.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
The 2020 Marienburg Riesling Großes Gewächs seems quite restrained, but it is open and lively, bright and inviting and fresh with herbs, some lanolin, stone, very subtle lemon notes, apple and green plum.
Palate
On the palate, the wine delivers a lot of juice, appears bright and very herbaceous. It is also reminiscent of Petrichor on slate. The wine is characterised by a slight creaminess and a little warmth adds charm. The finish is stony, austere and sinewy.
