Color

Bright lemon yellow with slight cloudiness, green reflections.

Nose

The nose quickly makes it clear that this is Riesling, but that no typical vinification methods were used. Thus, peach, nectarine as well as grapefruit, lime and green apple buzz in the background. Above all, however, it shows traits of green tea and dried herbs. Similar to a Sencha tea, it offers an aromatic depth of great facets that never wants to be loud. Quite subtle. Only those who make a real effort will find the subtle nuances in it. Dried thyme, a little sage and laurel are clearly discernible, a little lemon balm adds freshness. Chamomile blossoms level the floral finish.

Palate

On the palate, it clearly shows that this is a dry example of a Schiefer Riesling. It appears firmly structured and honed by a hard blade. In this dry range, Riesling can present noticeably salty nuances - as is the case here. The acidity contrasts with this very skilfully. In addition to the salty-acid kick, it reveals a noticeable, albeit subtle, fruit. Now rather characterised by yellow as well as green apples and grapefruit. Blood oranges can also be detected. The herbal notes can still be sensed, but they give way to the bright fruits. Animating and long-lasting on the finish. A very exciting Riesling. A true native.
