Color
The work presents itself in a medium, bright cardinal red.

Nose
Chiesa Nera, the main cuvée from Venturis, is a harmonious blend of the local grape varieties Aléaticu, Sciaccarellu, Minustellu, Carcaghjolu Neru and Moresconu, complemented by the two main players Niellucciu and Vermentinu. Each of these grapes gives this complex red wine a unique character. Starting with the seductive scent of violets and roses, notes of well-ripened cherries, sour cherries in alcohol, fragrant raspberries and black elderberries merge into a harmonious bouquet. Black pepper, liquorice and hints of fresh leather, dark earth, smoked bacon and a fine spiciness of wood add additional accents.

Palate
With a maceration period of 45 days, Chiesa Nera has an engaging velvety texture, complexity and impressive richness. Despite this depth, the wine never seems overloaded, but always dynamic and lively. The sweet fruitiness dances virtuously on the fine-grained tannins, while notes of wild herbs such as rosemary, thyme and immortelle make themselves felt. Added to this are the variety of spices and fine toasted notes, which are finally rounded off in a long finish, surprisingly accompanied by a touch of freshness and saltiness. A wine with excellent structure and great potential for development.

Food recommendations
Mediterranean-style stuffed peppers would harmonise with this wine, as would a selection of different air-dried salami and coppa served with fresh, crusty farmhouse bread. A classic slow-cooked game goulash, preferably of wild boar would also be a delicious accompaniment.
