Wine information
The fruit for this wine comes from the Les Saussots vineyard in Meursault. It lies directly below the Volnay site Les Santenots. The Chardonnay was matured for ten months in the pièces with 10 % new wood content.

rich straw yellow
Nose
The 2019 Bourgogne Les Saussots offers a wonderfully inviting nose of lightly toasted hazelnuts and best wood in combination with distinctly citrusy fresh and partly slightly exotic notes. Besides honeysuckle and broom, there are lemons and limes, pineapple and a hint of a just ripening melon, peach and a hint of beeswax.
Palate
On the palate, this is a smooth and juicy Burgundy blanc with a successful depth and sensuality. The roasted nuts and the wood already seem well integrated here, even if they are still clearly present. With the nuts comes a bit of torrone, which is a very Meursault typical spiciness and a very light tannin. The acidity seems sensual and ripe, precise and well interwoven with the juicy fruit of lemons, stone fruit and melon. Overall, this wine seems very balanced. It already tastes like a Meursaultbut it doesn't cost that much yet.
