Château Falfas

chateau de falfas falfax

Chateau de Falfas on an old print. At that time still under the name "Falfax»

The wine growing in Falfas is very old, already in 1827 a tourist guide of Bordeaux noted: "Two of the first growths of the region, Tajac and the Castle of Falfax, are located in the commune of Bayon"..

Formerly, in the 14th and 15th centuries, this beautiful estate belonged to the Lords de Lansac, an ancient sword nobility loyal to the English crown. At that time, the wines were exported to the court of Edward of England

In the 17th century, the château was acquired by the Sires de Riveaux, who bequeathed the present building in pure Louis XIII style.

At the end of the 17th century, the castle became the property of the President of the Parliament of Guyenne, Gaillard de Falfas, who had it restored and gave it its present name.

Since 2010, Véronique has been cultivating and vinifying the wines with the support of her team: Driss, Christophe, Pascal and Stéphanie and her two daughters Annabelle and Suzanne.
