The Bandol Rosé »Nuances" is a more or less pure Mourvèdre . The vines are planted in an "amphitheatre" facing the sea on Triassic clay, limestone and chalk. For this vin de guard only the best and oldest vines with a yield of around 30 hl/ha are used. The juice flows off according to the saignée method, is slowly fermented at around 22 °C and then aged half in 30-hectolitre Stockinger barrels and the other half in sandstone amphorae.

Nose
The Bandol Rosé »Nuances" presents itself as a completely independent rosé, dense, concentrated and at the same time lively and fresh. Expressive notes of pomegranate juice, nectarines, apricots and blood oranges are found here, along with liquorice and sage, some lavender honey and wax.
Palate
The full scope of materiality, power and complexity is delivered by the Bandol Rosé Nuances However, it is not until the palate that it becomes clear that this is a Vin de Gard This is a wine that is currently being poured into the carafe or of which one buys a larger number of bottles and sees how the wine develops over the next ten years. The red- and white-fleshed concentrated fruit brings a sweetness all its own, which is accompanied by pips and a little zest. Notes of saffron, anise and liquorice are present here, as are lavender and Mediterranean spices. Long and dense with a good portion of tannin, the Rosé across the palate, delivering an impressively fine-grained texture and a ripe but lively acidity that is downright sinewy. This is a complex, finesse-rich rosé with proper length, richness and energy.
