Wine information
The 2020 Bandol Rosé is a cuvée of 65 % Mourvèdre and 35 % Cinsault. The vines stand in an "amphitheatre" facing the sea on Triassic clay, limestone and chalk. The Cinsault was pressed directly, the Mourvèdre bled over a day using the saignée method. The cuvée of both juices was fermented spontaneously over 20 days at 22 °C and then aged for six months in stainless steel.
Color
Light copper with orange reflections.
Nose
An explosion of fruit and herbs: vineyard peach, vineyard peach liqueur, sweet cherries, apple tart, candied lemon, rosehip jelly, a hint of cinnamon, many fragrant blossoms and the redcurrant cake fresh from the oven. Powerful, expressive, it captivates us already in the fragrance.
Palate
On the tongue, the 2021 Bandol Rosé from Château de Pibarnon packs a punch and delights with its fullness of fruit, Mediterranean spice and length. A rosé with a fine tartness in the long finish that is the perfect and unaffected food companion. A wine that sets standards not only in terms of rosé!
