Details
This wine, a muscat with small grains, has been rooted in shale soil since 1960. The story behind the wine is as fascinating as the wine itself. The old plots, acquired in 2010, were already planted with this grape variety. At first, winemakers Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet wanted to remove it, as they were not a fan of the small grain Muscat. However, the first vintage proved them wrong. "Everyone who tastes the Chamane is surprised by its earthy aromas, which surpass traditional muscat aromas. Our constant quest is to bring the flavours of the soil into the wine, and this wine is a perfect example of that."

Color
A pale yellow with subtle silver reflections pervades the glass.

The Bouquet
The 2021 Chamane reveals itself with a delicate scent of mace, Reinette apple, lime, apricot and pink grapefruit. The aromas are finely interwoven, creating an airy and delicate bouquet. This is characterised by a fine minerality and sublime coolness. It carries the scent of many herbs, including lemon balm, rosemary and basil, which accentuate its lively freshness. One could think one is standing in front of a mountain spring.

Taste
On the palate, it presents itself with a lot of freshness, subtle bright fruit, subtle grapefruit and a salty perception, combined with a fine tannin. A Muscat that is excellent as an aperitif to open the palate and perfect to serve with fresh summer cuisine with fruity and herbal elements. An extraordinary drinking pleasure at only 12.5 vol%.
