Wine information

The orangery is a half-hectare property located at the top of the hill of Béru. The Clos, whose walls are made up of the old castle ramparts, is situated on a clay island lying on the Kimmeridge rock. Sheltered from the wind and facing south, the Clos de l'Orangerie enjoys a special microclimate that makes this garden a jewel in its surroundings.

Color

Bright, sparkling golden yellow.

Nose

The 2019 Chablis Orangerie exudes a great aroma of ripe Reinette apples, citrus fruits, pears, apricots and quince jelly. Distinct mineral aromas of toasted mussel shells and sea breeze are beautifully rounded off by spicy notes reminiscent of anise, dry biscuits and vanilla.

Palate

On the palate, it is a juicy and compact Burgundy. The fruits of the nose are accompanied by clear spicy and salty aromas. The use of wood presents itself unobtrusively and very skilfully and is rounded off by a fine flint note that is mineral and stimulating. The acidity dances on the tongue and encourages the next sip, its iodine and mineral character transports you directly to the sea. Simply perfect with hearty cuisine with Burgundian finesse.

Decant at this stage if possible and do not serve too cold.
